<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a water hose for obtaining an inexpensive, thin and light-weight hose causing no uneven thickness (formation of wrinkles or bumps) by reducing a coating weight of a material derived from fossil fuels per unit weight. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the water hose includes a components (A), (B) and (C). In the component (B), a melt flow rate (MFR) at 190°C under a load of 2.16 kg is 1.0 g/10 min, and a density is 0.870-0.908 g/cm<SP POS="POST">3</SP>. In the component (C), a pH is 5.5 or higher and an average particle diameter is 3.5 μm or more. The component (A) is an ethylene-propylene rubber. The component (B) is an ethylene-octene resin.
