PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that inexpensively captures a high resolution image.

SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a plurality of image pickup elements (21A-21D) for imaging a subject; a drive section (3) for driving the plurality of image pickup elements one by one into an imaging position to image the subject; a pixel calculation section (4) for calculating pixel information from information from the image pickup element acquired by imaging every time one of the plurality of image pickup elements is set in the imaging position by the drive section; and a pixel information storage section (7) for storing the pixel information calculated by the pixel calculation section as image information in association with position on the subject.
