<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can reduce image quality degradation due to density unevenness (oscillation unevenness) caused by relative oscillation between a liquid ejection head and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the liquid ejection head (16) with a two-dimensional nozzle arrangement or the liquid ejection head in which a plurality of head modules are arranged staggering, a conveying means (14) which conveys the recording medium, a body frame (20) which supports the conveying means, and a head moving means which moves the head to the body frame. A head fixing means which fixes the head (16) at a liquid droplet ejection position to the body frame has a pressure application means for head fixing (66) which excites the head (16). A resonance frequency specified from a spring constant of the pressure application means (66) and a mass of the head (16) is made different from a frequency component of an oscillation pitch dependent on a space distance between nozzles in a conveyance direction of a nozzle connection part in the nozzle arrangement, a relative oscillation frequency of the conveying means (14) and the head (16), and a medium conveying speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
