<p>Benzanthrone dyes prodn. Cpds. of formula:- where rings A, B, D, E and F are opt. substd. (e.g. with halogen, CN, NO2, acyl, amino, etc.) but may not contain SO3H gps; X, X' = (independently) O or S; and n = 0 or 1, are made by reacting benzanthrones contng. the appropriate reactive gps. with one or more phenols. The cpds. dye cellulose acetate and triacetate, polyesters, polyamides, etc. and are very light-fast even in pastel shades.</p> |
