PURPOSE: A Lactobacilllus plantarum KY1032 and a pharmaceutical composition containing the same are provided to suppress differentiation into 3T3-L1 adipocytes and to produce functional foods and pharmaceutical compositions. CONSTITUTION: A Lactobacillus plantarum KY1032(deposit number: KCCM-10430) suppresses 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation by suppressing expression of a gene relating to 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating obesity contains Lactobacillus plantarum KY1032 as an active ingredient. A functional food for preventing or treating obesity contains Lactobacillus plantarum KY1032 as an active ingredient.
