<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket capable of ensuring electrical connection of a feeding terminal with a lamp pin in a quadrangle cross-sectional shape. <P>SOLUTION: A socket is provided with a socket body 41 having an opening installed in the front face and having an insertion groove 50 for communicating with the opening in the front face from the end surface intersecting the front face installed. In the socket body 41, a pair of lamp pins 29 in a quadrangle cross-sectional shape projecting from one end of a straight tube-type lamp are inserted in the insertion position within the opening through the insertion groove 50, and are rotated from the insertion position to the connection position within the opening to be mounted. Within the socket body 41, a pair of feeding terminals 43 are arranged.
