<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone apparatus which can correctly detect that a user is about to finish a call, then, at that moment, correctly inform the user that the person on the other end of the line is still speaking, and disconnect the communication path at the moment when the user so wishes. <P>SOLUTION: The telephone apparatus is provided with a distance sensor 14 to detect a distance between a handset 1 and a cradle 16, and with an on-hook detection part 15 to detect the handset 1 is placed on the cradle 16. When a distance D detected by the distance sensor 14 becomes less than a prescribed distance d, a volume of the sound coming out from a speaker 4 disposed in the handset 1 is increased. A communication path is disconnected when the on-hook detection part 15 detects an on-hook. Thus, the on-hook operation becomes not necessary to be detected by the presence/absence of a contact to the ear by the handset 1, and when the user is about to disconnect the line while the person on the other end of the line is still speaking, the sound of the person comes out at a large volume. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
