摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object moving mechanism using a liquid crystal, capable of moving an object smoothly with small energy. <P>SOLUTION: The object moving mechanism includes a fixed plate BP which is fixed, a moving plate MP provided movably relative to the fixed plate BP, a liquid crystal LC provided between an upper surface of the fixed plate BP and a lower surface of the moving plate MP opposed to the upper surface of the fixed plate BP, and a liquid crystal rotation unit for rotating liquid crystal molecules m in a plane intersecting the upper surface of the fixed plate BP and/or the lower surface of the moving plate MP, and processing to reject the liquid crystal LC is applied to the upper surface of the fixed plate BP. As the moving resistance of the liquid crystal LC is low, the moving plate MP can be moved smoothly with respect to the fixed plate BP. Once the liquid crystal LC is started to move, as the moving resistance is low, the movement of the moving plate MP can be continued without continuously applying energy thereto. Accordingly, even if reduced energy is applied to the liquid crystal LC, the moving plate MP can be moved smoothly and continuously. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
