<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve computation of computer resources for a virtual machine that processes I/O based on QoS policy. <P>SOLUTION: An I/O adapter control method is provided for a computer system including a computer that creates a virtual machine on a logical partition created by logically partitioning computer resources. The I/O adapter control method includes the steps of: receiving, at a logical partition control unit, a request for creating a virtual machine, and QoS policy including QoS setting information which is information on QoS requested for the virtual machine; creating a guest logical partition; computing a resource to be allocated to an I/O controlling logical partition that processes I/O between the guest logical partition and an I/O adapter; allocating, to the I/O controlling logical partition, the I/O adapter that is used to provide a virtual I/O adapter on the guest logical partition; and creating the I/O controlling logical partition based on the resource computed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
