<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a humidification device shortening time until reaching a predetermined humidity by reducing a drop in humidity in a room caused by the operation of heating equipment, in the humidification device starting operation in conjunction with the start of the operation of the heating equipment. <P>SOLUTION: In this humidification device, operation is controlled so that also the humidification device simultaneously receives a heating operation starting command (infrared signal) given by a user with an air conditioner remote controller, with respect to an air conditioner provided in the room with the humidification device installed, the humidity supposedly reduced by the heating operation of the air conditioner is predicted, and a humidification rate (humidification capability) is increased before the actual humidity is reduced.
