<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner having a self-propelled floor brush effectively cleaning a surface to be cleaned. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has a cleaner body housing an electric fan 18. The vacuum cleaner has an air passage communicating with a suction side of the electric fan 18. The vacuum cleaner has the floor brush partially constituting the air passage. The vacuum cleaner has an optical sensor 42 for detecting the amount of dust passing through the air passage. The vacuum cleaner has a control unit 41 for propelling the floor brush by itself and controlling the running of the floor brush according to a detection result of the optical sensor 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
