<p>A control method of the wastegate valve (16) in an internal combustion engine (1) turbocharged by a turbocharger (12); the control method includes the steps of: determining a target boost pressure (P obj ); dividing the operating range of the wastegate valve (16) according to the target boost jump (”P obj ) into at least two distinct zones of operation: a first zone of operation (A) in which the target boost jump (”P obj ) is lower than a threshold (”P obj1 ) and a second zone of operation (B, C) in which the target boost jump (”P obj ) is higher than the threshold (”P obj1 ); and when the wastegate valve (16) is in the first zone of operation (A), determining a target position (WG obj ) of the wastegate valve (16) so that the actual boost pressure (P) is higher than atmospheric pressure (P atm ) and target boost pressure (P obj ) .</p> |
