<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system that has a function of optionally selecting a plurality of form files without reference to print data. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a printing system with a form selecting function that is a form overlay adaptive printing system which diverts resources such as existent applications and a printer device as they are. The printing system displays a selection picture for a form that a printer driver is to use during printing processing from an application, and immediately applies a selected form file, so that the arbitrary form file can be selected out of a plurality of form files.
