<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire wherein the operability of the guide wire is improved by enhancing torque transmissibility of a guide wire distal end part, and wherein safety is improved by making the distal end part of the guide wire flexible. <P>SOLUTION: This guide wire 1 includes a core shaft 2, and a multilayer coil body 3 comprising N layers not less than three layers wound around at least a distal end part of the core shaft 2.
