<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for electric vehicles which can prevent main battery deterioration. <P>SOLUTION: The controller for electric vehicles includes a main battery, a first auxiliary battery and a second auxiliary battery both of which are arranged in parallel, a step-up/step-down transformer which steps down a power supplied from a drive system circuit to supply a step-down power to the first auxiliary battery and steps up a power supplied from the first auxiliary battery to supply a step-up power to the drive system circuit, a charger to charge at least the first auxiliary battery using an external energy source, and a battery control section which monitors the remaining capacities of the main battery and the first auxiliary battery and controls charging/discharging thereof. When a remaining capacity of the first auxiliary battery is equal to or exceeds a predetermined threshold, the controller steps up a power which can be output from the first auxiliary battery by means of the step-up/step-down transformer and also performs control so that a power equivalent to a difference between a power supplied from the first auxiliary battery to the drive system circuit and an output required by the vehicle may be supplied from the main battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
