<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply display a set value, an electric power saving effect, a trade-off between the electric power saving effect and a warm-up time to a user, in power saving setting in a sleep mode of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: When a shifting period of time to the sleep mode and a heater temperature are selected by the user, an estimated value of power consumption and the warm-up time is displayed in an operation display unit 14 by a display setting program 16a. Moreover, when the shifting period of time (or the heater temperature) is selected by the user, a shifting period of time (or a heater temperature) list of a plurality of shifting periods of time (or heater temperatures), estimated power consumption, and warm-up times that can be a guide of setting for the user is displayed in a shifting period of time (or a heater temperature) list display area 29a (or 29b) by using a preset heater temperature (or a shifting period of time) as a key.
