<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for driving a discharge device which can surely enhance light emission efficiency even when discharge delay occurs even though being a simple driving method, and to provide the discharge device. <P>SOLUTION: The discharge device driving method which drives a discharge device 40 by applying a periodic voltage pulse to the discharge device 40 having a pair of electrodes X and Y, a dielectric 12 and discharge gas 31 with a drive circuit 50 switches the drive circuit to a high-impedance state until the discharge device starts to discharge after the voltage pulse is applied to the discharge device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
