<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing tool capable of effectively polishing a columnar or conical member to be polished. <P>SOLUTION: The polishing tool 2 is used for polishing a surface of a core pin 30 that is installed for use in a handy type rotary tool. The polishing tool 2 includes a holder 5 having a shaft 4 installable in the rotary part of the rotary tool, and a cylindrical polishing member 10 which is installed in holder 5 and in which a center hole 12 is formed coaxially with an axial line of the holder 5. The polishing member 10 is formed of an elastic material. When the rotary axis of the polishing member 10 becomes not parallel to the axis of the core pin 30 during polishing work, the polishing member 10 can be transformed in conformity with a shape of the core pin 30 because the polishing member 10 is formed of the elastic material, and thereby the deviation in a polishing part is hardly caused.
