Provided is a hybrid construction machine capable of promptly stopping a revolving body by means of the stopping control of a normal construction machine even when, for some reason, the revolving body moves contrary to the expectation of an operator. A hybrid construction machine provided with: an inverter controller for controlling the revolution of an electric motor by outputting a PWM signal to an inverter; a first electric circuit having a blocking means for blocking, in accordance with the operation of inactivating the switch for a gate lock lever or turning off the ignition switch, the PWM signal outputted from the inverter controller to the inverter; and a second electric circuit having a swing brake solenoid valve for actuating a swing brake in accordance with the operation of inactivating the switch for the gate lock lever or turning off the ignition switch.
