PURPOSE: A composition containing Celastrus orbiculatus extract or Tripterygium regelii sprague et takeda extract is provided to prevent or treat corona virus infection and to suppress 3CL protease. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating corona virus infection contains Celastrus orbiculatus extract or fraction thereof, or Tripterygium regelii sprague et takeda extract or extract thereof. The extract is isolated using water, C1-C4 alcohol, or mixture solvent. The fraction is isolated using hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, or water fraction. The corona virus is SARS, porcine, or bovine corona virus. A pharmaceutical composition is used in the form of tablet, pill, powder, granule, capsule, suspension, emulsion, syrup, freeze-dried formulation, or suppository. A composition for preventing or treating corona virus infection contains a compound of chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient.
