<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter for a railway vehicle which conforms to both of a track circuit using a commercial power supply and a track circuit for using a high frequency AC as a power supply without increasing the number and weight of filter circuits. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter for the railway vehicle comprises a first filter circuit connected to a power collection apparatus for receiving a DC voltage, an inverter converting the DC into the AC and driving an AC motor using the DC voltage collected by the power collection apparatus through the first filter circuit as a voltage source, and a second filter circuit for increasing an input impedance at particular frequencies of 25 Hz and 30 Hz, and connected in parallel to the first filter circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
