PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a map in which characters have perspective.
SOLUTION: A three-dimensional map display system displays a map by perspective projection based on three-dimensional polygon data of features such as a road and a building. As for characters displayed in the map, the size of characters is changed according to the depth of an object to be indicated by the characters, such as a building. In the perspective projection, while a building and the like are displayed in reduced sizes according to their depths, the size of characters is changed at a display ratio different from that applied to a building and the like. Thus, characters themselves can have perspective, facilitating intuitive grasping of the relationship between the characters and the building or the like. By applying a different display ratio from that of the perspective projection, it is possible to avoid a too large or too small character size and achieve an easily readable character expression.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
