<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly start printing processing by interpreting a part of page information of a received job and determining printing conditions specified in a productivity priority mode. <P>SOLUTION: A job interpretation section 105 interprets the page information of the job received from a PC 100 through an input section 104, to determine whether or not the job has a record (S1201). When the job interpretation section 105 determines that the job has the record, the job interpretation section 105 interprets the page information of one record to determine the printing conditions to be specified in the productivity priority mode (S1202).
