摘要 <p>The present invention relates to a surveillance camera and to a method for controlling same, and more particularly, to a surveillance camera capable of capturing a blind spot, and to a method for controlling same, wherein the camera comprises: a main body provided with a wide view camera and a teleview camera so as to capture the front view; and a sub body (200) capable of freely changing the area to be captured by having a protruding total view camera formed protruding from one side of the main body so as to be capable of freely rotating toward the front, rear, left, and right. Surveillance cameras of prior art are configured simply as cameras which have low capturing precision and fixed views for surveillance resulting in blind spots which are not captured, thus leading to the problem of significantly degraded surveillance functionality. To prevent said problem, the present invention discloses a surveillance camera capable of capturing a blind spot wherein the camera comprises: a main body having a wide view camera for capturing the entire view to the front of the main body, and a teleview camera for optically zooming into and capturing a preselected relevant area, wherein in the surveillance camera having the wide view camera for capturing the entire view to the front of the main body, and the teleview camera for optically zooming into and capturing the preselected relevant area, a sub-body provided with a total view camera capable of rotating to the front, rear, left, and right so as to capture a blind spot, and which is coupled to one side of the main body, wherein video captured by the total view camera is relayed to the multiplexer of the main body and a CPU of the main body controls the multiplexer to selectively output the video signals captured by each camera in PIP format. According to the surveillance camera and the method for controlling same according to the present invention, the omnidirectional capture of the areas to be monitored is made possible by configuring the camera with: a main body provided with a wide view camera and a teleview camera for capturing the front view; and a sub body provided with a total view camera for capturing a blind spot, wherein the sub body is rotatably coupled to one side of the main body. Also, because the video signal captured from a separate external camera can be received and batch-processed in a multiplexer, the cost for installing a plurality of external cameras can be significantly reduced, and because a user can freely capture all of the desired areas, the problem of blind spots in surveillance can be fundamentally resolved.</p>
