PURPOSE: A food composition for preventing obesity containing a torilis japonica extract is provided to effectively prevent high blood pressure caused by obesity. CONSTITUTION: A food composition for preventing obesity contains a torilis japonica extract as an active ingredient. The torilis japonica extract is obtained by the following steps: dipping 1kg of torilis japonica into 5L of 50% ethanol, for extracting at 50deg C for 10hours; removing extraction residues; and compress-concentrating the obtained extract for removing an extraction solvent to obtain the solid torilis japonica extract. The torilis japonica is leaves, stems, flowers, roots, or their mixture of the torilis japonica.
