<p>Fuel additive, preventing the deposition of ice crystals in the carburetter during the cold season, consists of (in % by wt. with respect to the fuel): (a) less than 0.1% of a polyalkylene glycol; (b) 0.5 - 5.0% npref. 1.0 - 2.0%) of a monohydric alcohols(s); (c) less than 0.1% of an amide; and (d) less than 0.1% of a glycol ether. The additive is improved by using as a monohydric alcohol (b) isopropanol or isobutanols, or 1 : 1 mixture thereof, whereby separation of phases on contamination with water is avoided and, in addition, a cleansing effect is achieved.</p> |
