<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail mounting structure capable of easily engaging a handrail front end section and a handrail support for an adjacent stair even when an interval between the handrail front end section and the handrail support is irregular. <P>SOLUTION: In the stair-handrail mounting structure 30, a handrail 32 is fitted at the upper end section 31a of the handrail support 31, and the handrail front end section 32a and the adjacent handrail support 33 are engaged by an engaging means 36. The sectional shape of the adjacent handrail support 33 is formed in an approximately H shape and groove sections 33b are formed in the vertical direction to both side faces of the adjacent handrail support 33. The sectional shape of the engaging means 36 is formed in a U shape in a plan view and cylindrical pin sections 37 are projected inwards at a pair of one end sections of the engaging means 36, and a work is advanced under a temporarily fixed state in the pin sections 37. The engaging means 36 are fixed finally into the groove sections 33b of the adjacent handrail support 33 by fixtures 37b such as a screw inserting the pin sections 37 and brought to the state of a pin fixing.
