The component has pane element (12) with two panes (14, 16) that are curved and connected with each other by an adhesive layer (18). A carrier part (20) is embedded in the adhesive layer, where the panes are made of glass, and the adhesive layer is made of expandable material such as polyurethane (PU) foam. The carrier part serves to attach the pane element to a holding bar (22) and allows a seal carrier (24) provided with a water gutter to be fitted with the adhesive layer. A recess is provided in a lower pane and in the adhesive layer.
