<p>Micro catheter probes for the determination of oxygen content in very narrow blood vessels consist of Pt wire cathode (17 mu) supported by a Cu wire 0.1 mm and mounted coaxially in a plastic tube with the Pt extending 1 cm. The anode is chlorinated Ag paste on the exterior of the plastic tube. After sectioning the end to expose a fresh surface of Pt and Ag the device is coated with collodion or cellophane (R.T.M.). A KCl electrolyte is supported between this and an outer gas permeable membrane. Probe is cheaply and simply produced. It can be used in blood vessels of 0.6-0.8 mm dia.</p> |
