<p>A vehicle includes an engine-driven oil pump, which is driven by the rotation of an output shaft of an internal combustion engine, a variable valve timing apparatus, which operates based on hydraulic pressure supply provided by the oil pump, and a continuously variable transmission capable of continuously varying the transmission gear ratio. An electronic control unit sets the transmission gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission based on the operating state of the vehicle. The electronic control unit changes the transmission gear ratio, which is set based on the operating state of the vehicle, in such a manner that the engine speed is increased when the hydraulic pressure supply via the hydraulic oil provided from the oil pump to the variable valve timing apparatus is low.</p> |
