The present invention relates to a method of treating a degreasing agent-containing waste liquid, characterized in that the method comprises contacting:
a bacterium belonging to the genus Alcaligenes, a bacterium belonging to the genus Sphingobacterium, Shewanella algae, a bacterium belonging to the genus Rhodobacter, Micrococcus luteus, and a bacterium belonging to the genus Paracoccus, and
a degreasing agent-containing waste liquid; wherein the degreasing agent-containing waste liquid is a waste liquid comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, dipropylene glycol ether, monoethanolamine, polyoctyl phenyl ethers having an average molecular weight of from 696 to 872, isopropyl alcohol,
ethylene glycol, N,N'-dimethylformamide, and benzimidazoles having an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
