The industrial truck (10) comprises a height-adjustable load support unit (12), and a lift height controller for the load support unit, in which multiple predetermined heights are stored for the load support unit. An operating element is provided, which allows a manual adjustment of the lift height of the load support unit with different speed. The lift height controller of the load support unit proceeds from one of the predetermined heights, if the control set speed decreases below a predetermined threshold value for adjusting the load support unit.
