<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lubricant base oil, which enables (A) the acquisition of objective low temperature characteristics, (B) stable operations for long periods (B) without deteriorating the performances of the lubricant base oil such as hue, and further the control of an aromatic content within a proper range. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the lubricant base oil comprises (1) subjecting a lubricant base oil intermediate to the first hydrogenation treatment in the presence of the first hydrogenation catalyst and hydrogen to give a basic nitrogen content of≤20 wt.ppm in the oil, an aromatic content of≤40 wt.%, a monoaromatic content of≥70 wt.% in the whole aromatic content, and a tri- and more-cyclic aromatic content of≤2 wt.%, (2) separating ammonia from the outflow oil of the first hydrogenation to give the purified oil, and then (3) subjecting a hydrogenation dewaxing treatment to the purified oil in the presence of hydrogen and a hydrogenation dewaxing catalyst containing zeolite to give an ammonia concentration of≤100 wt.ppm in the reaction system and a pour point of≤-20°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
