<p>The soln. obtained by liquid phase oxidn. of cyclohexane, without catalyst, with O2, is washed with water and (aq. soln. of) 6-hydroperoxyhexanoic acid (I) contnd. in the aq. phase is treated with aq. HNO3, pref. in the presence of a V-based catalyst and/or NO2 to give adipic acid (II), a precursor or polyesters and polyamides.</p> |
