<p>Deliverly device can be used for thermoplastic adhesives, such as polystyrene and polyester adhesives, and prevents clogging and oxidising of adhesive. An open vessel receives a block of the solid thermoplastic material, and the vessel has a discharge conduit in which an adjustable by-pass valve is positioned. The lower part of the vesselis heated by a device which only melts the lower part of thermoplastic material thus maintaining a constant reservoir of the molten substance. The heating arrangement is such that the outer portion of the thermoplastic block is always in a solid state. A compression device exerts continuous downward pressure onto the exterior of theblock. Thus the molten material is kept out of contact with the atmosphere and flows immediately on opening the valve.</p> |
