<p>Liquid distribution in plate and frame type liquid/liquid contactors is improved by use of a frame with a pair of inlet and outlet bores for each liquid stream, symmetrically positioned on each side of the frame, one in each corner. Each inlet communicates with a distribution chamber of larger cross-section through a channel. A large cut-out is formed in the frame and a number of distribution channels are formed in the two corners of the cut out where there are no distribution chambers. When assembled the frames are lined up with corresponding plates having through bores and distribution chambers. Used in (electro) dialysis, heat exchanger and fuel cell units, giving rise to lessened eddy and turbulence phenomena.</p> |
