FIELD: agriculture. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves selecting a base point, installation of a theodolite in the operating position above the base point, measurement of the distance to the accountable tree, pointing of the telescope of the theodolite to zero point relative to the accountable tree, selection of an observable point on the accountable tree, precise pointing of the vertical thread of the telescope of the zero point to the observed characteristic point, the precise pointing of the middle thread of the telescope of the theodolite on the observed characteristic point of the accountable tree, the scale reading of the horizontal and vertical circles, calculation of the angle of rotation and the angle of the observed characteristic point of the accountable tree from the zero point, calculation of the width and height to the observed characteristic point of the accountable tree from the zero point. Geodetic reference of the zero point of theodolite is performed relative to the middle of the diameter of the root collar of the accountable tree. The coordinates of all the observed characteristic points of the accountable tree are measured with theodolite relative to the zero point on the grid mesh with the beginning located in the middle of the diameter of the root collar of the accountable tree, with the base point is selected approximately in the middle of the clearing in the woods. The position of the base point afield is fixed with a peg. Above the base point the theodolite is installed.
