METHOD FOR PREDICTING DEVELOPMENT OF EDEMATOUS FORM OF ENDOCRINE OPHTHALMOPATHY

A method for predicting the development of the edematous form of the endocrine ophthalmopathy comprises the assessment of the functioning of oculomotor apparatus (the measurements of the scope of eyeball movements – field of vision) and Dopplerography of blood flow (linear rates and resistance index) in the ocular artery. When the overall field of vision recorded over four meridians is less than 200 degrees and the systolic blood liner rate in the ocular artery exceeds by at least 52 % that of age-related reference values, the development of the edematous form of the endocrine ophthalmopathy may be suggested.
