PURPOSE: A method for encoding/decoding an image using an adaptive prediction block and an apparatus thereof are provided to increase the accuracy of a prediction image. CONSTITUTION: A decoding device selects neighbor blocks used for calculating a filter coefficient(S1210). The decoding device calculates the filter coefficient(S1220). When the filtering for a prediction block of the current target decoding block is determined, the decoding device filters the prediction block(S1230, S1240). The decoding device determines a pixel value of the prediction block(S1250). The decoding device generates a restoration block by using a restored residual block and the final prediction block(S1260).
