PURPOSE: A swimming training device and a control method thereof are provided, which can minimize error of stroke calculation and speed calculation. CONSTITUTION: A swimming training device comprises: a camera(10) filming the movement of an object; a movable module(30) moving in the traveling direction of the object; and a control module which extracts the image of an object, analyzes swimming pattern based on the inputted photographic image from a camera mounted on the movable module, and controls the movable module using the analyzed result. The image of the extracted object is divided based on the fixed body division point.
