CONSTITUTION: Apparatus for repairing the defective projections of a substrate(10) comprises a rotary grinding member(4). The rotary grinding member is a grinding wheel. The rotary grinding member operates in a direction parallel to the substrate and in a direction perpendicular to the substrate. The rotary grinding member grinds the projections of the substrate. The axial length of the grinding wheel is larger than or equal to the width of the effective display area of the substrate.
