SINTERED VALVE GUIDE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A sintered valve guide material and manufacturing method thereof are provided to keep wear resistance and enough intensity by decentralizing the existing form and quantity of iron carbide phase. CONSTITUTION: A sintered valve guide material is composed of pores and a matrix microstructure. The matrix microstructure is consists of pearlite phase, ferrite phase, or a mixed structure of perlite phase, ferrite phase, Fe-P-C compound phase, and copper phase. The graphite of the metal structure is dispersed in a part of pore. An iron - phosphorus - carbon compound phase is the area ratio of 3~25% to the metal structure. The copper phase is 0.5~3.5%.
