PURPOSE: An image forming device and a control method thereof are provided to selectively perform auto recovery according to jam location. CONSTITUTION: An image forming unit(130) forms an image on a printing media. A media output unit(150) outputs the printing media to the outside of the housing. A finisher unit(160) performs a post processing function on the printing media. An output direction changing unit(140) changes an output direction of the printing media. A control unit selectively performs auto recovery according to jam location of the printing media.
