PURPOSE: A shape recognition originating system, a mobile terminal and an operation method thereof for increasing the convenience of a user are provided to convert an image such as a number and a figure into a telephone number. CONSTITUTION: A shape extracting unit(102) extracts a shape from an image. A display unit(106) displays a telephone number. A controller(110) converts the shape extracted from the shape extracting unit into the telephone number matching with the shape. The controller displays the converted telephone number on the display unit. The controller sends a call to the telephone number.
