REPORTING TERMINAL CAPABILITIES FOR SUPPORTING SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE

PURPOSE: A system for reporting terminal capabilities which supporting short message service and a method thereof are provided to prevent a delivery report by the SMS reception success through the reporting terminal. CONSTITUTION: A UE(User Equipment)(122) is registered to an S-CSCF(Serving Call State Control Function) within a network through an IMS(Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem) registration procedure. The UE transmits the capability information which displays an SMS message capability of the UE. The UE receives the SMS message by using an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) and an IP-SM- GW(Internet Protocol-Short Message-Gateway)(118).
