METHODS FOR PRODUCTING HIGHLY UNSATURATED FATTY ACIDS FROM MICROALGAE

PURPOSE: A method for preparing highly unsaturated fatty acid from micro algae is provided to shorten fermentation time and to save cost for producing the fatty acid. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing highly unsaturated fatty acid from micro algae comprises a step of adding shear stress protection agent into a medium for micro algae. A method for improving productivity of the highly unsaturated fatty acid comprises a step of adding shear stress protection agent to the medium. The highly unsaturated fatty acid is omega-3 unsaturated fatty acid such as docosahexaenoic acid(DHA), eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA), arachidonic acid(ARA), docosapentaenoic acid(DPA), or alpha-linoleic acid.
