PURPOSE: A device and method for controlling an induction motor of a vehicle are provided to prevent unnecessary power consumption by efficiently controlling an induction motor according to a driving state of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A gearshift sensor(11) senses a position of a shift lever. An output torque sensor(12) senses output torque of an induction motor(15). An induction motor controller(13) determines whether to excite a coil of the induction motor by using the output torque and the position of the shift lever. A current controller(14) excites the coil of the induction motor by supplying a current to the induction motor. |
