PURPOSE: An ignition device for charcoal is provided to simplify the structure of the device by directly purifying and cooling contaminated and heated air inside a frame. CONSTITUTION: An ignition device(10) for charcoal comprises a brazier(11), a lower frame(12), and a gas burner(14). The lower frame supports the brazier. The gas burner is arranged on the top of the brazier. The lower frame comprises multiple compartments(C1,C2) and a connection pipe(18). The compartments are installed on the top of an upper plate(16) to be adjacent to each other. The connection pipe is arranged on the top of the upper plate and connects the compartments to each other. Water tanks having opened tops are arranged inside the compartments. A discharge passage successively passes through the water tanks of the compartments.
