PURPOSE: A light emitting device is provided to improve luminous efficiency by reducing compressive stress which an interface layer applies to a quantum well in an active layer. CONSTITUTION: A first conductive semiconductor layer(110) is formed on a substrate. A interface layer(120) is formed on the first conductive semiconductor layer. An active layer is formed on the interface layer. A second conductive semiconductor layer(140) is formed on the active layer. The interface layer includes one or more barrier layers. An energy band gap gradually increases to the active layer from the first conductive semiconductor layer in the barrier layer.
