PURPOSE: A method for predicting channeling of a blast furnace in operation is provided to prevent channeling and thus to improve the work efficiency of a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION: A method for predicting channeling of a blast furnace in operation comprises the steps of: collecting data about channeling influence factors of the past work(S10), evaluating the weighted value variation rate of each channeling influence factor by applying Mahalanobis taguchi system and MTS method to the collected data(S20), evaluating the weighted value of each channeling influence factor using the evaluated weighted value variation rate(S30), and predicting channeling using the evaluated weighted value(S50). The channeling influence factors include pressure differences, furnace heat, skin flow temperature, a standard deviation of furnace top gas pressure, upper pressure loss changes, lower pressure loss changes, gas use rate changes, and blast furnace temperature.
